Scotland to Canada Rotary Couples Golf Exchange Tour –
September 2007

Invitations to participate in this Exchange were sent out late November 2006. Twelve couples chosen from all three Scottish Districts were duly selected. David Arnot of the Rotary Club of Forfar was appointed captain and Jim Young of the Rotary Club of Elgin, treasurer.

Jackson Christy Porridge Bowl 2007

Following the 5 areas preliminary qualifying rounds played in April and May this year, the Final was played at Forfar GC over two rounds on Tuesday 19th June 2007. The results were as follows

1. Leslie Roger, Aberdeen Balgownie, (137)
2. Bill Cross, Dunfermline (144)
3. Tom Arnot, Dunfermline (147)

The winner, Leslie Roger, will represent District 1010 against the qualifier from District 7280 (Pennsylvania USA), one Ralph Jockle. The match will be played at the District Conference, Aviemore, 2008.

Last year’s winner, Norman Dyce, Kirriemuir represented District 1010 in Pennsylvania USA in June this year. Norman had a wonderful trip, attending the US Open and being well looked after by his American hosts.

The final of the Jackson Christy was played over two rounds; firstly at Butler GC and secondly over Ganberry Highland GC. Norman lost 2 & 1 in what turned out to be a close and hard fought contest.
